RGA Poll Shows Dead Heat: 46-46
The Republican Governors Association released the findings from an internal poll today on the California governor’s race. In no state has the public polling been more incongruent with internal findings than in California over the past two months. According to the RGA’s latest poll, the race is tied 46-46.
“This race will go down to the wire, and it’s important that California voters know the truth about how close this race is,” said RGA spokesman Chris Schrimpf. “Despite the Democratic leanings of the state the race is neck and neck. We are confident Californians will ultimately decide they cannot afford to hire someone for the state’s top job who has pushed higher taxes and so grossly mismanaged the budget. This election is about moving in a new direction.”
“When he was governor three decades ago, Jerry Brown sought to hike taxes by $7 billion and turned a $4 billion surplus into a $1 billion deficit,” Schrimpf said. “Meg Whitman is the only candidate who will bring fresh ideas and solve the state’s most pressing challenges.”
Key findings of the poll can be found below.
